Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

  • by Monty Python

Some things in life seem bad
They can really make you mad
Other things can really be a test
When you’re chewin’ on life’s gristle
Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ ll help things turn out for the best

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
Always Look on the Light Side of Life

If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laught and smile and dance and sing
When you’re feeling in the dumps
Don’t be silly grumps
Just purse your lips and whistle
That’s the thing ..

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
Always Look on the Light Side of Life

We’re All Aging Well

  • by Georgie Kunkel
  • tune: New York, New York

We’re all aging well!
Can’t you really tell?
We walk our mile every day,
Our hearing’s okay.

We’ve changed to tofu.
We’re no longer blue.
We’ve dumped the meat off the grill,
Our body’s trim.

We’re going to find a way
To keep that old-fashioned charm,
And eating veggies galore
Right off the farm.

We’re traveling far
In our touring car.
We’re trying to go round the world
While we’re still young.
We’ll really celebrate
Before it is too late!
We’re living life
Right to the end
(Spoken) You’d better believe it!
We’re living life right to the end!

Taking Care

  • by Sue Kay, Jeanne Lorimer, Jo-Hanna Read, Rita Selin
  • tune Favorite Things

Red wine and choc’lates and salmon and kiwis,
Water aerobics and laughter if you please,
Walking and talking and sharing with friends,
These are a few of our favorite things.
When the wind blows wear your warm clothes.
Keep your powder dry.
Remember your vegetables and the red wine—
And only one piece of pie!

Crosswords and pinochle, bridge and sudoku,
Keep your mind nimble and it will see you through.
Tangles of memory lost by the way—
Where will you be at the end of the day?
Don’t like walkers, don’t like four-prongs,
Can we take a bus?
If you do all of our favorite things,
Then you’ll look good—like us!

Take Good Care of Yourself

tune: You Belong to Me!

Healthy food is good for you
And your family.
Take good care of yourself—
Build community!

  • Be sure to ride your bike—oo, oo!
    Take a hike—oo, oo!
    Fly a kite—oo,oo!
Get off your butt and turn off the TV!

Throw the plastic bottles out,
And the pesticides,
Take good care of yourself
And we all will thrive.

  • Make the water safe and pure-oo, oo!
    Let’s be sure—oo, oo!
    Life is more—oo, oo!
    Of friendship, fellowship, and caring.

Healthy food is good for you
And your family.
Take good care of yourself—
Build community!

Take Care of You!

  • by Lenore Arnaustoff, Carolyn Hale, Hinda Kipnis, Ann Smith
  • tune: Enjoy Yourself. It’s Later Than You Think

Take care of you! You have so much to do.
Take care of you! Yor work is never through.
You can say no! Cause you’re important too.
Take care of you. Take care of you.
So you can make it through.

Take care of you! The stress piles on so thick.
Take care or it will make you very sick.
Blood pressure builds, attack or stroke you pick.
Take care of you. Take care of you.
Or helping days end quick!

Take care of you! It’s good to have a friend.
Take care of you! Support must never end.
We need you here! You have your life to tend.
Take care of you! Take care of you!
Before you round the bend!

Take care of you! Get out on your bike.
Take care of you! Go out on a hike.
Make some time for playing like a tyke.
Enjoy yourself. Enjoy yourself!
Do something that you like!
